Twelve Port Orford cedar shafts for building your own wooden arrows, hand matched so every shaft in the dozen sits within 10 grains of the rest. Matched weights group tighter, and you spend less time allowing for a stray heavy arrow. Choose 11/32 inch (9mm) or 5/16 inch (8mm), with spines from under 30lb to 65 to 70lb.
Why Port Orford cedar
The timber comes from old-growth forest in the Pacific Northwest. It is light, strong and naturally straight, keeps its line with regular use, cuts cleanly and tapers easily. The shafts take stain, sealer and fletching well, and their smooth surface needs less sanding before you start work.
