A dozen Port Orford cedar shafts that come already dipped in our specialist polyurethane finish, so you can skip the finishing stage and go straight on to points, nocks and fletching. The coat seals the timber against moisture and handling and keeps the natural look of the wood. They suit traditional archery and historical arrow making.

About the dipped finish
- Both ends of each shaft are tapered before the shaft goes into the finish.
- Some shafts carry a little excess coating on the point end from drip drying. Trim it with a sharp knife, cutting the coating and leaving the timber, or sand it off.
- Fine dust can settle on the finish while it cures, which is normal for a hand-finished shaft. A light pass with fine sandpaper before you build leaves the surface smooth.
If you would rather apply your own finish, our natural Port Orford cedar shafts come unsealed.
