Kangaroo is the strongest leather for its weight, and it is thin and supple too, so this version of the Solkarra Leather String Keeper sits close over the limb tip. Within a few outings the dark brown cap moulds to the shape of your bow, and the leather darkens and softens the more it is handled.
Fitting it
- With the bow unstrung, slip the leaf cap over the top limb tip so the string loop sits inside it.
- Run the black elastic cord down the belly of the limb.
- Push the engraved arrow button through the string loop lower down to lock it.
The string then stays on the bow instead of sliding off the tip, unwinding or getting lost in the bag, and the twists and brace height are unchanged when you string up again.
- Leather: dark brown kangaroo, Australian
- Fittings: black elastic cord, engraved leather arrow button
- Size: one, fits recurves, longbows and horse bows
- Made: hand-stitched in Western Australia
The soft leather will not mark a finished limb. The bovine leather string keeper is the firmer, tan alternative. Horse bow owners should string up following the Asiatic Bows stringing guide.
