About tezhip
Tezhip is Turkish for illumination. It is the Ottoman craft of hand-painted ornament, with detailed patterns and gold leaf, found on historical Turkish bows and on many of the decorated bows in museum collections. The originals were composite bows of wood, horn and sinew, and Ottoman armies prized them for their power and small size. On the Ottoman design finish, Metbow paints this kind of ornament onto its modern bow.
