The Samick SKB is a one-piece Korean horse bow, 50 inches long, in a plain black finish. Rosewood, walnut, hard maple and fibreglass make up the bow, and the wrapped grip stays comfortable over a long session. It is compact, light and smooth to draw, suits thumb draw and instinctive shooting, and it works for right and left handed archers. A bowstring comes with it.

Our coach’s notes
One of our coaches, who shoots thumb draw with Asiatic and horse bows using khatras and thumb rings, tested the SKB. He rates it a good value first Asiatic bow for archers who want to try Korean shooting styles without spending much.
- The grip is a little thicker than he likes, and still comfortable.
- Without a proper khatra, arrows can touch the riser.
- With a khatra it shoots well, even fitted with a modern string pocket.
- It shoots smoothly and forgives small mistakes.
If you have not braced a horse bow before, read the Asiatic Bows stringing guide before you string it.
