Istvan Toth hand-crafts this Mongol horse bow with fibreglass limbs wrapped in leather and siyahs carved from ash with horn tips. A strike plate on the handle protects the leather where arrows pass.
The string bridges mark it out from the Hungarian style of horse bow. Near each tip the string sits on a bridge, and on release it snaps back against it, which adds speed and power to the arrow. The same rests hold the string in place once the shot is gone.
