Fletching a dozen arrows three feathers to a shaft takes 36 feathers, which is what this pack holds. The 4 inch shield cut feathers are split into 12 index feathers in one colour and 24 hens in another, so every arrow gets an odd-coloured index feather and a matching pair in the usual 1:2 pattern.
In the pack
| Index feathers | 12, first colour |
|---|---|
| Hen feathers | 24, second colour |
| Length | 4 inches |

| For | Recurve, longbow, field and display arrows |
Shield or parabolic
A shield cut stands a little higher than a parabolic feather. The extra height helps the arrow rotate consistently and group well.
To finish the build, fletching tape holds each feather cleanly on the shaft, and heat shrink arrow wraps add colour and protect the shaft.
